Science Festival SCVNGR Hunt

The Colorado Springs Cool Science Festival presents the inaugural “Science SCVNGR™ Hunt” on Friday, October 21st at Jack Quinn’s, 21 S. Tejon St, Colorado Springs. Registration starts at 5:30pm and the hunt starts at 6pm. Using your smart phone and the SCVNGR™ app, players have 2 hours to get as many points as they can by completing challenges all over downtown. First place gets a free Apple IPAD2, second place gets a free Nook Color, and third place gets a free Nook eReader. Winners are announced at Jack Quinn’s at 8:30pm!
Who – Everyone is invited! Bring your smart phone and come on down!
What – A “2-hour-most-points-wins” SCVNGR™ hunt using the scvngr app on your smart phone. Using your smart phone, you’ll be going to different places downtown and accomplishing challenges… and of course, they are science-themed challenges as this is part of the Colorado Springs Cool Science Festival.
When – Friday, October 21st. Show time is around 5:30pm for registration and rules. The hunt starts at 6pm sharp! The hunt goes for 2 hours. It closes at 8pm sharp! Post-Party starts as soon as the hunt closes at 8pm and Winners are announced at 8:30pm.
Where – Starting point is Jack Quinn’s upstairs. The hunt is throughout the downtown area. Post-party and announcement of winners at Jack Quinn’s upstairs.
How – Go to www.scvngr.com on your smart phone, or scan the QR code below. Download the app. Show up on Friday, 21 Oct. Get the most points on the trek. Win an IPAD2!

Techie stuff: SCVNGR™ is a smart phone app that is compatible with iPhones and Android-based smart phones (sorry, Blackberry isn’t supported just yet). The app uses the GPS receiver in your phone to know which challenges are accessible since challenges are attached to specific locations.

Legal Stuff: As consideration for being permitted by The Colorado Springs Cool Science Festival™ to participate in the Science SCVNGR™ Hunt and to be permitted into any premises anyway associated with the aforementioned event, you forever release the aforementioned organizations and their respective directors, officers, employees, volunteer, agents, contractors, and representatives (collectively known as “Releasees”) from any and all actions, claims, or demands that you, your assignees, heirs, distributees, guardians, next of kin, spouse and legal representatives now have, or may have in the future, for injury, death, or property damage, related to (i) your participation in these activities, (ii) the negligence or other acts, whether directly connected to these activities or not, and however caused, by any Releasee, or (iii) the condition of the premises where these activities occur, whether or not you are then participating in the activities.
